This is a great project to start out with because it involves various leather working methods to create a perfect personalized key ring.  Kit includes pre-cut tooling leather, ring and rivets to complete at Crafty Cottage, take home or give as a gift.  This kit works well for Boy & Girl Scout achievements.  Conchos are sold separately.

Another inexpensive way to make a purposeful project while being creative.

$2.00 - Round: Tooling leather shape useful for coasters, bolo ties, add-ons, key chains, hair barrettes, luggage tags, or plainly use for practicing.

$2.00 - Arrowhead: Tooling leather shape ideal for Scout recognition awards, name tags, luggage tags or bolo ties.

$0.50 - Mini Shapes: Tooling leather Frog, Butterfly, Turtle, Dragonfly, Teddy Bear or 4 Leaf Clover shapes to add dimension to your project.

Bookmark $2.00

Impress a friend or family member with a special handmade gift they can use, and while you’re at it make one for yourself.  This size and shape lends itself useful for practicing as well as completing a finished project.  You can incorporate design features like simple leather stamping, intricate hand carving and/or staining.

Beginner: $10 per class (2 hours)

Class 1:  Instructor introduces basic instruction of leather working and guides students to complete up to two small projects (i.e., key fob, bookmark, leather round or bracelet).

Class 2:  Basic instruction review with introduction to leather belt concept, design and implementation.

Class 3:  Continue belt design to completion.

Additional classes may need to occur to complete belt.

Note: Belt buckle not included in class fee.  Buckles are available for purchase at Crafty Cottage.

 

Novice: $5 per class plus cost of Project

-Class time up to 2 hours or completion of project (whichever comes first).

-$5 covers full use of leather tools.

-Project costs range from $2 to $40.

-Limited instructor supervision.

-Walk-Ins welcome, if instructor is on the premises and available.

Leather Link Belt $0.40 per link

This is a fun and easy way to create your own belt by linking non-tooling leather shapes to your specific waist size.  Price is per link, but it includes billet and rings for buckle.  For example, 25 links would be a $10.00 belt.  Leather can be stained

Leather Journal $7.00

Creativity and dexterity skills will be exercised to design, personalize, color and then assemble the project.  Includes two pre-cut/punched non-tooling leather covers, string, beads and paper.
